Soil Based Pigments

Just in time for Earth Day 🌎 ✨ 🌄  I'm so excited that my soil based watercolors from soil scientist Karen Vaughan's the Art of Soil arrived in Thursday's mail!, beautifully packed in compostable bags and a wee cardboard box, with paper shred padding!  'You are about to paint with soil' This Sea to Land ecosystem pan free set includes the Atlantic Coast, Coastal and Roots collections (color combinations inspired by place - not gathered from protected ecosystems!) I made my first color swatch, and look forward to getting to know these hand made paints! I have a little extra palette to hold some of  them - and will use a mint tin for the rest!  Color swatch We use simple materials in most of our coaching sessions and circles, to make creativity more accessible. I got a little watercolor set from our NW Daniel Smith company last year, and use Neocolor 2 crayons, oil pastels and Inktense pencils as well, both personally and with groups. Painting practice

An important element of our Healing Arts practitioner training is engaging in our own art practice - both in the journal, and on canvas. This practice is a way to process what comes up for us during the training, and as we guide our guests on their Healing journey.  Here is a peek at the first Quartier of this painting practice.  Reclaiming - ripples and first glaze Several years ago, Shiloh introduced a 13 moon painting class and called Anthropas, art based on and reflecting our human presence in the cosmos. I had begun another painting on it, (Diva X) and am reclaiming it yet again.   We began by considering our own creation stories, both from childhood, and more recent versions, and the star map at the time and season of our arrival and first brea

Color of Healing

We had a great RT circle call today, where we worked with a fusion of the Color of Healing process I learned in a massage workshop 39 years ago, the practice from a recent PRISMA practioner session with Dr Mary Mccrystal, and added neurolines at the end! Several of the participants had recent surgeries, some had chronic pain or other Health issues, and one had a massage earlier in the day, which always leaves her sore! We Began with a body centered meditation and breath, noticing our bodies and areas of discomfort. Focus of the opening reading was Joy, and our RT inquiry was to share name and land acknowledgment, then something that brought joy/ they were grateful for. Then I introduced the practice: Color of Healing 🌟 with eyes closed, choose the first color ⭐ We drew the simple 'gingerbread style body outline first, then areas in pain/ needing attention 🌟 with that first or another intuitive color, drew a reverb/ energy field around the body, and I mentioned the African Heale
